What Partnership Means to Us
We center dignity.
People should be able to reach resources and care without being shamed, judged, exploited, or required to perform their need.
We protect autonomy.
Our partnerships must respect bodily autonomy, informed decision-making, reproductive freedom, and each person’s right to make decisions about their own body and family.
We respect community expertise.
Black and Brown communities are not problems to be solved. They hold knowledge, leadership, relationships, and solutions that must shape the work.
We reduce gatekeeping.
Partnership should make care more reachable—not add unnecessary steps, requirements, or institutional barriers.
We value accountability.
Strong relationships require honest communication, clear expectations, shared responsibility, and a willingness to address harm when it occurs.
We build for the long term.
We welcome one-time support, but the deepest change comes through relationships that strengthen lasting community-held infrastructure.

Who We Partner With
We partner with local groups, doulas, clinics, schools, businesses, and public agencies. We also work with groups that help with food, housing, legal care, transportation, and health. You do not have to work in birth care to support birth justice. Safe homes, good food, fair pay, health care, and trusted support all help families thrive.
Ways to Partner
Work with KBJS to connect people with trusted care and local support. Partners can share resources, make referrals, and help people find doulas. We also help remove barriers for pregnant people and new parents. Getting help should feel clear, kind, and respectful.
Help KBJS provide diapers, formula, baby supplies, maternity items, and health resources through Liberation Place. Partners can give money, donate supplies, host drives, or help with storage and delivery. This is not charity. It is people caring for one another with trust and respect.
Partner with Catalyst Doula Training and the Kansas Doula Alliance to support doulas across Kansas. Help pay for training and scholarships, refer new doulas, or support mentors. Partners can also host classes and help clinics work well with doulas. Doulas are a key part of good care.
Work with the Matrescence Center and Milky Way Lactation Clinic to create safe and welcoming spaces. Partners can help host classes, support groups, events, and talks. These spaces help people learn, heal, connect, and feel less alone. Care should also include joy and belonging.
Long-term funding helps KBJS meet real needs with care and respect. Partners can support programs, doula training, baby supplies, feeding support, staff, space, and tools. Funding can also help us reach more families across Kansas. Strong partners support the full work, not just one program.
Birth justice means changing the systems that shape pregnancy, birth, and family life. KBJS works with partners on education, public policy, research, and better care. We do more than study unfair gaps. We work together to change the rules and systems that cause them.
